Meet the Team: Ognjen Karisik

Not every 21-year-old graduate walks straight into a development team already treating programming like a finished craft rather than a work in progress. Ognjen Karisik does - with a 9.40 GPA fresh out of the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad and a philosophy built entirely around efficiency, he's spent his first three months at Loncom putting that discipline to work on autonomous AI systems and distributed architectures.

Who He Is Today

At Loncom, Ognjen works on the development team alongside Franjo Dumanovski, bringing a practical, no-frills approach to full stack engineering. He's comfortable across the following:

✓ Java ✓ C#
✓ JavaScript ✓ Autonomous AI Agents & RAG Architectures
✓ Microservices & Distributed Systems ✓ SQL Databases
✓ NoSQL Databases

The Road Here

Ognjen built his hands-on experience through a series of engineering projects before joining Loncom three months ago, which put that experience straight to work on active client applications. Three months in, he's already moved past onboarding and into the kind of work that actually tests what he knows.

How He Thinks

"For me, programming is simply my job and profession," Ognjen says. "The goal is simple: deliver clean code, solve the problem as efficiently as possible, and get the work done right without overcomplicating things."

That efficiency-first mindset is easiest to see in the two projects he points to as his best work. The first is an Autonomous AI Dev Engine - a tool that designs sprint flows on its own, coordinates a set of autonomous AI agents to divide up the tasks, writes and tests the code, resolves merge conflicts, and pushes functional code without a human in the loop. The second is a distributed music streaming platform, built on a 5-microservice architecture designed to handle streaming data at scale. Different problems, but the same instinct behind both: strip out anything that overcomplicates the system, and let the architecture do the heavy lifting.
