Loncom Istria Meetup 2026

A Week of Learning, Collaboration and Connection

 

In May 2026, the Loncom team came together in beautiful Istria, Croatia, for our first company-wide meetup. While we collaborate daily across different countries, time zones, and projects, this week gave us something that remote work cannot fully replicate - the opportunity to learn together, share ideas in person, strengthen relationships, and create memories as a team.

Over seven days, we combined workshops, knowledge-sharing sessions, strategic discussions, product showcases, team activities, and plenty of opportunities to explore one of Croatia's most stunning regions. From launching our new website and discussing company growth to visiting Rovinj, Pula, Poreč, and Motovun, the week perfectly reflected what Loncom is all about: continuous improvement, collaboration, and people.

1. Learning Together

A major focus of the meetup was creating space for learning and knowledge sharing. Throughout the week, team members participated in workshops and discussions covering communication, leadership, technical development, client collaboration, and future company initiatives.One of the key sessions focused on team communication and collaboration, helping us align on how we work together internally and how we continue delivering excellent experiences for our clients.
We also held dedicated sessions for team leads, exploring leadership development, 1:1 conversations, and ways to better support team growth as Loncom continues to expand.

MID-YEAR REVIEW
An important moment of the week was our Mid-Year Review, where we reflected on our achievements, company growth, client successes, and future goals. It was a valuable opportunity to celebrate progress while aligning on where we want to go next.

2. Celebrating Our Website Launch

One of the highlights of the week was launching our brand-new website together. Rather than clicking the publish button from our home offices, we waited until the entire team was together in Istria to celebrate the moment.

We probably didn't imagine that launching a new company website would involve sunshine, great conversations, and plates of crispy fried calamari - but that's exactly how it happened. Gathered around one table, with laptops open and excitement in the air, we officially launched the next chapter of Loncom.

The launch represented much more than a new website. It reflected our growth as a company, the expertise we have built over the years, and the direction we are heading as we continue helping clients improve their operations, systems, and data-driven decision-making.

3. Showcasing What's Next
The meetup also gave us an opportunity to look ahead. We shared updates on internal initiatives, explored new ideas, and presented the first version of our internal project management tool.Discussions around automation, AI, operational efficiency, and future product development sparked many exciting conversations and highlighted how innovation continues to play a key role in Loncom's journey. We also held technical sessions focused on cloud technologies, solution positioning, and industry best practices.

4. Beyond Work: Exploring Istria
Of course, the meetup wasn't only about workshops and presentations. Throughout the week, we made time to explore some of Istria's most beautiful towns and enjoy the local food, culture, and atmosphere together.

ROVINJ

Rovinj was one of the highlights of the trip. After a full day of sessions, we enjoyed an evening exploring the town's charming streets, waterfront views, and local restaurants. One of those moments included a well-earned team pizza dinner-  giving everyone a chance to relax, unwind, and enjoy each other's company.

POREČ

Our first group visit introduced many of us to the charm of Poreč, with its beautiful waterfront, historic streets, and relaxed atmosphere.

PULA

A visit to Pula allowed us to explore one of Croatia's most famous historic destinations. The city's rich history and impressive architecture made for an unforgettable experience.

MOTOVUN

Nestled on a hilltop, Motovun offered breathtaking views and a completely different side of Istria. The visit gave everyone a chance to slow down, explore, and appreciate the region's unique character.

 

5. Friendly Competition & Team Activities

While the workshops and strategy sessions were an important part of the week, some of the most memorable moments happened outside the meeting room. From BBQ evenings by the pool and team dinners across Istria to spontaneous table tennis matches and late-night conversations, the meetup gave everyone an opportunity to connect on a more personal level.

One of the highlights was our Loncom Pub Quiz, where teams competed across multiple rounds of questions, challenges, and friendly debates. After a closely contested battle, Team Green claimed the victory, taking home the official Loncom Pub Quiz Trophy along with commemorative mugs for each team member.

6. Memorable Evenings

One evening, the team gathered for dinner at Konoba Danijeli, a traditional Istrian restaurant known for its authentic cuisine and warm atmosphere. Surrounded by great food, laughter, and conversations that stretched well beyond work topics, it quickly became one of the most memorable moments of the week.

Final Thoughts 

Our first Istria meetup was much more than a company gathering. It was a week of learning, collaboration, growth, and connection. From workshops and strategy sessions to exploring Rovinj, Pula, Poreč, and Motovun together, every activity contributed to strengthening our team and shaping the future of Loncom.

We return home with new ideas, stronger relationships, and even more excitement for what comes next. And if this meetup was any indication, we're already looking forward to the next one.
